Re: Sound Card is sick
To the present a test of sound card ADC converter, with an external Hameg HM8130 function generator in sweep mode from 20Hz-96KHz. The ADC -3dB bandwidth looks better but not close to 96KHz. Please see the attached picture and the notes.

Re: Sound Card is sick
Yes, I bought this sound card 10 years ago. I removed it from the PC and did a thorough cleaning of the PCI tracks on PCB, as well as of all I/O phone jacks. I also replaced the 3 ICs in the DAC section, with new LME49720s, without any performance improvement.

Here are two screenshots of the performance, taken with the best possible settings. SC in ASIO mode at 24bit/192KHz. The FFT size is 32678 and the window is Kaiser 6. The THD etc. range setting is from 20-20,000Hz. As you could understand for a range setting up to 96,000Hz ...

Re: Sound Card is sick
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I know. Simply I used these settings to compare with an old measurement obtained with MI v3.1 I have stored on my PC. I can't upload it because the original picture is in jpeg. I tried to convert it to png but the size is still big.

Re: Zsc measurement issues
Thanks for the advice.
I tried the 100Hz psf without success. The green window shows BAD for any level setting. I also tried the 50-10000Hz psf and found that only from 200Hz and above the level is acceptable and shown as a percentage. For 50 and 100Hz test tones, the indication is always BAD for ...

Hello
My sound card (Asus Xonar Essence STX) lost its good performance as you could see in the picture. Its bandwidth is also reduced to about 63KHz. Is noisy and the THD is big. I suspect that its ADC converter Cirrus Logic CS5381 suffers from something. Have you any idea or to ...

Hello
Thanks for the advice.
I spent 2 hours calibrating the sound card as MME. The Zsc has been calculated fine at 4.54KΩ. The output amplitude of the signal generator is also calibrated and its max level is 2.8Vp. Later, I tried some measurements of components. Measurement of ...

I've read and followed carefully these sections you refer to. The problem is that: When the Sound Card is registered as "Sound Card ASIO" in both ADC and DAC device settings, then there is no other level control except the two sliders (Output Amplitude - Vp) of the MI signal ...

Re: Zsc measurement issues
Hello
Following my previous post, I've checked the Line Outputs of Asus Xonar with the oscilloscope. As stimulus I used the same "Zscdefault. psf" in which the MI signal generator output setting is at max (1V as is stated in the Output Amplitude box) and during the No loopback test the MI bar graph ...

Zsc measurement issues
Hello
I try to put in operation the LCR meter. Before that, I have to calculate the Zsc using the "Zscdefault.psf" in DUT. As you know my SC is an Asus Xonar Essence STX and in the settings is registered as Sound Card ASIO. I also have a pair of P601 probes and try to obtain the calculation with ...
